October 2009: Newsflash & Showcase of 2 Cool Additions!

Newsflash Alert:

A possible 2nd wave of H1N1 peak is predicted in Nov/Dec 2009.  As such, please prepare for 3 weeks of online lessons in the event of campus closure.   This message was communicated to us by EDU through the ICTTL committee.

Cool Addition #1

Remember the calculator demonstrations that took your breath away! We add another to the collection!

This series of short 8-minute videos demonstrates the conversion of complex number from rectangular form to polar form and vice versa.

Thanks to the team of Hongying, Ngee Yang and Pei Chin for their contributions!

You can find the links in Topic 9 > Lesson 4 in the list of the updated URLs.

Cool Addition #2

Are you using Statistical Tables in your module? If so, you do not have to worry about copyright issues anymore! Lai Nai Shin has developed our very own versions of the statistical tables!

  • Other additions to the MS Resources include two online lessons done by Lai NS - Estimation and Hypothesis Testing (Topic 17 > Lessons 11 & 12).
  • Show students the relevance of mathematics in their course of study through the document "Linkages between Mathematics Topics and DEEE Modules" (under "MS Formulae & Tables").
  • If you have anything to share (Excited about a new software? Fulfilling your PMP goal? Or just for fun?), please let the MS-ICTTL team know and we will organise for you!
  • In case you have forgotten who are in the MS-ICTTL team... Leader - Fan KS, Technical Team - Lai Nai Shin & Sharon Xu, Pedagogy Team - Sharon Quek & Yeo Ngee Yang.
